Your Role

As Business Continuity & Insurance Manager, you’ll play a key role in strengthening how ASOS prepares for, responds to and recovers from disruption. You’ll help shape and embed a refreshed approach to Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR), connecting critical business operations, technology recovery, crisis management and third-party resilience into a practical Group framework that supports our fast-paced global business.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused role that will also manage ASOS’ Group Insurance cycle, supporting renewals, claims, broker and insurer relationships, and stakeholder engagement across the business. Working closely with teams across Technology, Supply Chain, Customer, Commercial, Finance, People, Legal, Procurement and beyond, you’ll provide clear advice, challenge and support that helps ASOS build stronger governance, controls and operational resilience.

The Details

  • Play a key role in defining and embedding a refreshed ASOS approach to Business Continuity Management, helping to connect business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, critical third-party resilience, operational recovery planning into a coherent Group framework. Help drive the delivery of our maturity improvement programme and support its transition into a sustainable BCDR governance framework.
  • Oversee and manage the renewed BCDR framework cycle once established. Refresh Business Impact Assessments, coordinate plan reviews and lessons learned activities, track remediation actions, and support annual testing, training and exercising activities.
  • Work collaboratively with Technology, Supply Chain, Digital Product, Customer, Commercial, Finance, People, Communications, Security, Legal, Procurement and other stakeholders to align recovery objectives, dependencies, plans and testing activity across critical business services. Ensure clear roles and responsibilities within a federated ownership model where functional and technology leaders remain accountable for their own recovery capabilities.
  • Help ensure BCDR activities are aligned to ASOS' maturing Minimum Viable Company definition, critical business operations and agreed recovery objectives. Advise on development and testing of relevant runbooks, playbooks and recovery plans as required.
  • Own ASOS' annual Group Insurance cycle, working with our brokers, insurers and internal stakeholders to ensure renewal activities are well governed, timely and clearly linked to ASOS' risk profile, strategic priorities and operational needs.
  • Be a key ASOS point of contact for insurance queries, claims and project support, including managing day-to-day relationships with brokers, insurers and internal stakeholders across our business.
  • Improve insurance processes and stakeholder understanding of insurance requirements, establish an Insurance Champions network, and work with relevant teams to use claims, insurer recommendations and lessons learned to drive a stronger control and resilience environment.
  • Act as line manager and mentor for our Senior Risk Analyst who will support our BCDR and Group Insurance activities but also help deliver our responsibilities for assurance and risk management.
  • Support incident and crisis management activity as required, including contributing to response coordination, insurance notifications and claims processes, post-incident reviews and lessons learned.
  • Provide advice, challenge and training on resilience, insurance, risk management, governance and controls. Simplify complex topics to aid understanding and engagement, while keeping recommendations practical and aligned to commercial realities.
  • Help shape and deliver our team strategy and roadmap. Identify and drive opportunities for AI, data analytics and automation within insurance and BCDR activities, adopting and embedding new tools, techniques and methodologies where they improve effectiveness, visibility or efficiency.
  • Support our culture by championing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies.

We believe being together in person helps us move faster, connect more deeply, and achieve more as a team. That’s why our approach to working together includes spending at least three days a week in the office. It’s a rhythm that speeds up decision-making, helps ASOSers learn from each other more quickly, and builds the kind of culture where people can grow, create, and succeed.

Every single day I feel both supported and inspired! The constant flow of creativity within ASOS is contagious. It's cool to be encouraged to think outside the box.
I was initially drawn to ASOS as it is a reputable company with a culture that is unmatched. After joining ASOS I soon realised that just like the name, it was most definitely ‘As Seen On Screen’ – what you see is truly what you get. There are endless opportunities within the company with values embodying a culture of bringing your best self to work. I never feel as though I need to change to fit the status quo of the ‘corporate lifestyle’ but actually, I fit in more when I’m authentically being myself.
At ASOS I can bring my authentic self to work, you’re empowered to think different, innovate and do the things you love. ASOS is a fast paced, changing environment with fun at the heart of everything we do.

We are Customer First

We couldn’t be ASOS without our customers.

Across every behaviour, value, and all that we do, we see everything through our customers’ eyes. That means never taking anything for granted and always zeroing in on every single detail. So we can always bring our best as a team, and our customers can have an amazing experience, every time.

We are Authentic

We work together to be honest, transparent, and our full authentic selves.

This is our ASOS. Our culture, built on collaboration and togetherness, and supported by what’s real and honest. We know that we win bigger when we win as a diverse team. That means celebrating our differences and using them to help us stand out from the crowd, without losing our authenticity and individuality.

We are Brave

We challenge each other to aim high and reach our potential.

Doing nothing gets us nowhere. We may be proud of everything we’ve done so far, but there’s still so much more to explore. We believe we can always be wiser, faster, stronger, bigger, braver, kinder…so asking ‘why’ isn’t just a question, it’s a necessity. We use our voice to drive us forward, speaking up on the things our people and customers care about and using our curiosity to create possibility.

We are Creative

We know innovation leads to inspiration – it’s what makes us stronger

Change is in our DNA. By acting fast and staying one step ahead of the curve, we can be a leader, not a follower. But for our products and platform to be innovative, they have to be fuelled by creative passion and a deep understanding of our customers and our people.

We always Deliver

We couldn’t be excellent without evidence – so whatever we’re doing, we have proof of why we’re doing it.

It takes facts and data to tell our stories and help us make our decisions in the most effective way possible. This means we can do what we say and own what we do, no matter how long it takes us to do it. We aren’t about nonsense ifs, buts and maybes, we’re about creating an ASOS that’s built for future success on delivered success.
